Fashion and cycling: A Marriage Made on the Streets

It’s official, cycling and fashion have run into each other full force, and it’s this man’s opinion that the two should never disentangle themselves from one another.

Having just returned from New York, where the lovely Julie Hirschfeld opened the doors to her equally lovely TriBeCa Bicycle boutique (Adeline Adeline), I realized that the elusive and rare “style-savvy-cyslist” is about to move front page and centre in the North American Urban Landscape.

Hence, the induction of TheCommonElite.

A visual platform to help dissolve any lingering tension between fashion and cycling. This blog will showcase stylish cyclists from across the continent and perhaps even beyond. And more importantly, it will allow me to talk to/take photos of cute boys and girls who live bikes!

Along with the running photographic archive, I plan to glorify several things:

1. The leisurely park ride, that aims aimlessly to find the best shaded nook.

2. The “I ride my bike because it looks beautiful” mentality

3.  The suit-wearing cyclist

4. The skirt and heel wearing cyclist

And lastly,

5.  anything that allows an unlikely-cyclist to begin their love affair with two wheeled rides.
